IXC recruits creative, articulate engineers, scientists and technologists and trains them in the IXC Methodology. The role of an IXC Intermediary is to listen, learn and make external connections for IXC Clients. As an organisation, IXC waives any rights to Intellectual Property (IP) in anything other than our business model  - and IXC Intermediaries cannot have any potential conflicts of interest with Client organisations. IXC Intermediaries are hired under rigorous terms of confidentiality and non-use of IP.

IXC Intermediaries include PhD graduates typically in medicine, pure, applied and life sciences and ICT. They have diverse life experiences and are adept at 'fitting in' with their IXC Clients. They also have a strong interest in the 'business' end of science and thrive on seeing a great idea become a reality in the marketplace. Below are some typical IXC Intermediary profiles.

• An IXC Intermediary with a PhD in Particle Physics has worked in management consultancy and academia. She has first hand experience of commercialisation through her  patented research on the detection of cancer.

• This IXC Intermediary, with a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry, has worked as a software engineer, science teacher and as a research scientist. He has a Commonwealth Silver Medal in Fencing and project managed the establishment of an international sports science centre.

• With a first degree in Microbiology, an MSc in Biotechnology and a PhD in Molecular Biology, this IXC Intermediary has also worked in university commercialisation.

• A virologist, this IXC Intermediary with a PhD in Medicine conducted extensive medical fieldwork in Africa.

• This IXC Intermediary's PhD in Plant Biotechnology led to her work in creating a university start-up focused on genetically enhanced ornamentals and fruitplants. She also worked in protein chemistry and molecular biology before expanding her research interests to include nanotechnology, environmental science and medical biotechnology.

• With an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Materials and a PhD in Bioceramics, this IXC Intermediary is a medical device specialist who also developed materials for spinal and tissue-engineered cartilage repair implants.

• Another IXC Intermediary with a PhD in Analytical Chemistry/Electrochemistry and extensive commercialisation experience has worked in cancer research and medical technology, including device development, biosensors, transdermal drug delivery and pain.

• This IXC Intermediary has a PhD in Organic Chemistry and has worked in proteomics, biomaterials and diagnostics and has technology commercialisation experience including intellectual property management, licensing, capital raising and company formation.
