Dr Darren Coomber – Chief Executive Officer

Darren Coomber was appointed as the CEO of IXC Australia in November 2009, having held the position of National Manager Intermediary Services and working as an IXC Senior Intermediary since January 2006. Darren has led the development of the Intermediary service in Australia and internationally and has created collaborative opportunities for IXC clients including global companies, public sector research institutes and small to medium enterprises.

Darren has a broad background in scientific research, commercialisation and consultancy in both the public and private sectors . He has a PhD in Chemistry and experience ranging from theoretical electrochemistry, paediatric pain management and development of laser devices. Darren’s passion for innovation through collaboration has come from his first-hand knowledge of working across disciplines, companies and borders to develop technology solutions to address market needs.

Tess Julian - Director of Development

Tess Julian joined IXC in 2006 and has developed and delivered the unique IXC Intermediary training program. Tess owned and managed a consultancy business providing research and development  in the area of industry training and human resources. She has worked with government, business, not for profit agencies and training providers. In that time she developed particular expertise and interest in skills and strategies for implementing innovation within organisations.

As Director of Development, Tess is responsible for marketing, communications, business development and new product development. Tess designs and delivers customised training and services for clients including IXC 'Client' Connect programs and Problem Definition workshops.

IXC Intermediaries

IXC Intermediaries are creative, articulate and highly skilled Ph.D. or Masters qualified scientists, engineers and business professionals trained in intermediary skills and processes.

With backgrounds in fields as diverse as photonics, biochemistry, design and optical metrology, and experience in sectors from medical device and drug development, heavy industrial construction, and advanced telecommunications, IXC Intermediaries possess broad and relevant knowledge and awareness of commercial and innovation practicalities.
